MY CAT IS CRAZY...PART II

I laughed a lot last night. Got home from work and had a good hearty laugh, took a picture and continued to laugh.
Blind down.
Pete didn't get it. Concerned about the damage to the blind and possibly window that he'd have to fix for me, he didn't understand why I thought this situation was so funny. Then I realized, he wasn't in the picture when this happened.

(take a minute to reminisce; it's pretty comical.)

So he looks at me, completely confused, and all I say: 'Mica was chasing a fly.' The funny part? This makes immediate sense to him, no more questions needed, because he knows of her erratic, multiple personalities and he just says 'Oh,' as he closes the curtains 'I take it this is something that happens a lot.'

Yes, yes it does.

LATELY...(via iPhone)

The garden has been out of control. It's slowing down now that it's dropping to the 40's at night, but I successfully made it through the summer without having to buy tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos, green peppers or basil.
I got a new car!
The Ford is still slowly giving out on me, by giving out on me I mean blowing through catalytic converters like they're cheap or something. After the third catalytic converter in 18 months failed, I decided it's time to invest in a new every-day car. The MINI! It's wonderful, like a go-kart for adults, and oh-so-cute. The Ford is still around, but strictly for hauling and camping because it sadly can't handle too much more.

Best part? Although he wasn't able to make it to the test drive, Chubbs still fits!

Mica, being Mica.

Night out in Philadelphia for Heather's birthday! We hardly ever make it all the way into the city anymore because West Chester has so much going on, so it's nice to have an excuse to go every once in a while.

A visit with the almost-two-year-old (woah!) Nephew, Ryan. He is so much fun; we had a blast going to the zoo, playing in the founatin, getting ice cream, going swimming and just being silly together. He's such a cutie.

Fall is (un)officially here (I think 3 more days and it'll be official...)! But more importantly this also means my favorite beer, Oktoberfest, is available in our local brewery. The weather was beautiful so Pete and I checked out the Restaurant Festival in town on Sunday; the crowds were suffocating so we escaped into Iron Hill Brewery for a pint of Oktoberfest and a seasonal Sampler. The perfect Fall-ish Sunday afternoon :)

LET'S PLAY A GAME

'CAT or PILLOW?'

Two pillows and one cat or Three Pillows??

.................

If you guessed the first choice, you win!
Two pillows and one, very lazy cat. :)

HELLOOOOO NEW HOUSE

Pretend I updated my blog with days 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of unpacking...and now we're to today.

TADA!
I'm all moved in!

Hah! If only it were that easy :) But with the help of my wonderful brother, the mom and the dad, it was A LOT easier than it could've been! So thankful for that. And I'm LOVING it so far. All the furniture I had fits in perfectly and I even have my own little craft room for all my little projects! It's perfect. I don't have internet at the house and I haven't unpacked my camera yet, so bare with the fuzzy pictures from my phone and quick post from work. More pictures with a complete tour to follow at some point.

Organic spice rack from Kevin and Shannon for Christmas fits perfectly in the kitchen (thanks to some homemade hanger-hooks from the engineer dad.)

New kitchen canisters with my personal favorite little touch...girl can't live without her Jelly Belly jelly beans!

And the princess is already making herself at home...didn't take her long!

PRINCESS MICA

Every morning she likes her water cold, fresh, and close to the ground so she can quench the thirst while laying down (and hold it with both paws).

And you can always tell when she's real thirsty, because after minutes and minutes of slowly sipping her own personal fresh water, she looks like this (notice water droplets all over her face):

I give you Princess Mica.
Maybe the most spoiled cat ever; but that's just the way I like her.

YESTERDAY LOVE

I loved yesterday. Everything about yesterday. I think I'm still glowing as I sit here to write about it. Why you ask? Well, I will share...

Fifty degrees and bright sunshine. The first time in almost 4 months that I haven't needed my winter coat. Woohoo!
-------------------------------------------
For Christmas, my sister and brother-in-law gave me a cooking class in the city with this well-known vegan cook, Christina Pirello. It was yesterday and it was amazing. So much fun and not to mention delicious.
On the menu:
Red Lentil and Millet Soup
Curried Corn and Quinoa
Sweet Roasted Vegetables
rune, Orange, Fennel and Red Onion Salad
Peanut Butter Cookies
Her story is inspiring; she focuses on using whole and natural foods to refocus our bodies and help them to heal themselves. Very interesting, I highly recommend reading her, it will change the way you look at food.
In an effort to not be the awkward girl in the front row, I wasn't able to snap a picture in the classroom, but not to worry, I DID get a picture of the awesome bathroom:
-------------------------------------------
A walk through the city in the sun (although it reveals my ghostly winter-white skin color!)  and a trip to Whole Foods, one of my favorite places, always makes for a great day.
-------------------------------------------
Potluck dinner at Mrs. Chipman's house with a group of women from church and a special surprise from my sweet friend, Jaime:
-------------------------------------------
Then the night ended with babysitting for some of my favorites and sinking into my wonderfully soft mattress with this one:

And now it's Sunday morning, and I have a feeling today will give yesterday a run for it's money! It's 52 degrees, sunny and wonderful outside and I should be leaving for church right about now, BUT not today. Today I'm going wine tasting instead, with a couple of my favorite people, Kyle and Steph.

I know, tough life I have, huh?

BUBBA WITHDRAWAL

Look at that face.

Through the holiday travel and then me dog-sitting for a couple weeks, it was easiest for Mica and my parent's cat to keep each other company at their house for a while.

Now that 'while' has been almost a month and I miss her. I'm sure she's enjoyed her RitzCarlton-esque vacation in the neighborhoods of the rich and famous (probably what she thinks of my parents' house vs. my house), but girl needs to come home!

I need her back in my life. After all, WiiFit's been quite boring without my partner...
