So I have to admit, I wasn't too excited about turning 23. I mean, it's just 23. It's

not like you get any new privelages like you do at 16, 18 and 21, and it's not really a cool milestone like 25, 30 or 50. It's just 23. Then add in the fact that I still can't believe it's already JUNE of 2009 (I feel like it was just New Years!), so I had a hard time even remembering that my day was approaching.
Needless to say, my hopes weren't too high this year, celebration wise, and I was fine with that. If 23 could just sneak on by, that'd be great.
But when you have friends in your life and a family like mine, birthdays don't go un-noticed. I do, afterall, have the best family and friends EVER; how did I ever think 23 would just 'pass on by?'
Yesterday, June 10, the first day of my 23rd year, was filled with well-wishes, tons of calls from people I love, presents, hugs, tacos (birthday dinner since I was about 7; definitely a Texan at heart), and of course chocolate cake. I felt so celebrated and loved but most of all honored and grateful to be able to celebrate 23 years (and many more to come!) surrounded by the most wonderful people.
